| In an attempt to preserve the authenticity of the original we have salvaged all the pieces of the original aircraft that we possibly could. Some pieces will be used again after they are cleaned, inspected and repaired as necessary. Other non-airworthy pieces will be used as patterns to make new replacement pieces for the aircraft. Still others are unable to be used in any way, except to put on display as an example of the condition of the aircraft after sitting for nearly 50 years in the open air on the Rybachiy Peninsula in the Arctic Circle. |
