Artifacts off the Hawker Hurricane AM274:
© 2008 - 2009 JNE Aircraft Restoration Services
Hawker Hurricane AM274,
we have salvaged all the pieces of the original aircraft that we possibly could.
Some pieces will be used again after they are cleaned, inspected,
and repaired as necessary.
Other non-airworthy pieces will be used as patterns to make
new replacement pieces for the aircraft.
Still others are unable to be used in any way, except to put on display as an
example of the condition of the aircraft after
sitting for nearly 50 years in the open air of the Arctic Circle.
More identified artifacts on display at JNE Aircraft Restoration Services.
Larger skin pieces on display on another wall at JNE Aircraft Restoration Services.
The pilot's side of the original AM274 firewall ~ the armor plating outline can be
seen at the top of the firewall.  Just inside the armor plating are two bullet holes.
These shots passed through the firewall into the engine area.
Several artifacts are identified along this wall and the
History of the Hawker Hurricane AM274 is told.
A closer view of the bullet holes that missed our pilot that day in 1943.
