| In 2005, John bought a 1971 Honda 600 sedan project from his daughter with the idea it would be a good car to restore 'one of these days'. The project included: one pretty good car body and an engine that was froze up, along with another little car with a lousy body, and an engine that turned over! By 2007, it seemed this was just one more project that John would have a hard time ever getting around to, so we put the entire project up for sale for $1,500.00. Lots of people looked at it, and thought it was cute, but felt it would require too much to get it running again. THEN in the spring of 2008, the gas prices started going up... and up... and up... John began to think maybe the little car restoration should become a priority since he was traveling 100 miles each day in his commute to work at Boeing in Everett, Washington. So, late in May, 2008, John swapped engines and discovered he needed another carburetor and fuel tank before he could run the little car. That led to an Internet search for parts, where he discovered a 1972 Honda 600 sedan project for sale in Mountain Home, Idaho. After negotiating a price, he took his wife and parents and drove to Idaho to get the little car on June 7th. We never thought to take pictures of the 1971 Honda before John started work on it, but when we returned with the 1972 Honda, we decided pictures were in order. So, here she is: |
